2 Timothy 1

6. For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands,
7. for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and a sound mind.

2 Timothy 1

1. “Fan into flame the gift of God…”
   1. deal with fear of failing in a gift (great responsibility)
   2. deal with fear of succeeding and losing humility
   3. deal with selfishness, desire to be comfortable
   4. conflicting desires
2. “…in you through the laying on of my hands”
   
   1. word of God does not go out and return fruitless
   2. because itʼs in me by Godʼs placement, I wonʼt lose it by my failure
3. “…a spirit not of fear but of power and love and a sound mind

Summary:

• God’s teaching me to trust and find my identity in him in a way that I didn’t see or know how to do before.
• Before I used to go with what I felt but not believe what God said
• Now I’m free to go with what God says in the Bible.
