Richard Bristow - Kingdom of God - My New Identity
Many of us as believers in Jesus Christ are not walking in our new Identity and are therefore are not fully embracing and walking in all of God’s authority, benefits, promises and ‘gifts’ that are available to us as “King Kids”; sons and daughters of the “Most High”.
A majority of our actions and decisions (95% according to recent research) are driven by our ‘belief system’. Our minds were NOT automatically renewed when we came to faith in Jesus Christ and therefore we find that Satan has neutralized us, because we continue to walk and operate with our old UNGODLY Beliefs. An Ungodly Belief is any belief that we have that does not agree with God’s Word. To be more effective as “Kingdom” people and to regain and walk in our New True Identity, we need to replace Ungodly beliefs with New Godly beliefs.
How Do We Do This:
We use a six step process as outlined in the ‘prayer sheet’ to renounce (i.e. to give up or refuse to follow) the Ungodly Belief and replace it with a new Godly Belief that agrees with what God reveals in the Scriptures.
- Daily repeat the scripture that reveals God’s truth
- For the next 30 days repeat the following declaration:-
- I renounce and break agreement with the lie that “I am abandoned” and I receive God’s truth that “I am God’s adopted one”.
- Repeat this for every lie (Ungodly Belief) that is revealed to you by the Holy Spirit.
|Rejection:||Ephesians 1:5 “He predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will”|
|Not Belonging:||2 Corinthians 2:18 “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty”|
|Unworthiness:||Psalm 139:13-14 “ For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;”|
