New Life from Decay--Sign spotted at the Toronto Zoo.

Those who were able to go on the zoo trip on Monday had a great time (even though the weather was not so great). Above is a wonderful sign we spotted there :) On the right are a couple more pictures:

Everyone I have spoken to has said how well they thought our launch meeting went last Sunday. Here are some pictures:

Dustin is manning the welcome table, which is displaying Deb’s painting of our growth motif, a sequence of images on the laptop, our new welcome packs and invitation cards, and a glass bowl of white glass marbles, with one green one. (I hope nobody thought they were candies and tried to eat one!)

There was a larger worship team than usual, (Grace, Martin and Adam joined Luke and Dan). We had a wonderful time in God’s presence and then a gospel message brought by Andrew.

Official Newlife Church Launch

I am excited to announce the official launch of Newlife Church, Toronto, this coming Sunday (April 26th) at 3:00pm.

Many people have been working hard for the last few weeks, preparing for our new “look” and distributing invitations around the neighbourhood, as well as working behind the scenes on administration and planning.

We will have a larger team than usual leading the worship, with Luke and Dan joined by others. Andrew will be preaching a gospel message, so this would be a good time to invite your friends.

Josh has designed us a wonderful new logo:

Newlife Church, Toronto.

We have a new website which is about to go live on nlife.ca any moment, but if you want to have a sneak preview, take a look at this link: temporary link to new website.

During this week we have been handing out fliers. This is what the front looks like. (On the back is more about the church and a map.)

Newlife Church Toronto: Leaf flyer.

Heather took the leaf photo as well as an amazing shot of grass growing up through concrete which we used as a basis for the poster below. We distributed a letter to people living around the school where we meet containing an invitation and a smaller version of grass photo. We do hope you can make it on Sunday and bring as many friends as you are able! (Beware that the DVP is closed all day.)

Second Sunday Afternoon Meeting at St. Martins

The new meeting time—Sunday afternoons—seemed to work out very well last week. We’ll be meeting again this Sunday at the same time (3:00pm). Luke and Dan will be leading the worship and Andrew will be preaching the third and final message on the “Kingdom of God”, (as part of our series on Christian foundations).

Bill took some great pictures. Here are a couple of us worshiping:

Our very first Sunday afternoon meeting! This Sunday we’ll be meeting at 3:00pm instead of 6:00pm. One advantage of meeting earlier is that there is more time for fellowship and food afterwards :)

Here are a couple of pictures from when we met two weeks ago.

We had a great time eating pancakes last Sunday. Over 30 people showed up with huge appetites and nine batches of pancakes were made by Anne and Susanna! Here are “before” and “after” pics:
