Day Trip to Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area
Date:
Sat, 2015-07-18 - 11:30 am - 6:00 pm From the Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area website:
“At Rattlesnake Point, if lookout points could talk, they would tell you that they have seen countless proposals and weddings take place. People fall in love here. And why wouldn’t they? A lush tree canopy, bold-faced cliffs, hidden caves, 264 hectares of protected space, glacial deposits and year-round camping make Rattlesnake Point one of the most beautiful spots in all of Southern Ontario.”
Despite the name, there are no poisonous reptiles at Rattlesnake Point. We killed those over a hundred years ago.
The name actually describes the area’s serpentine path along the Niagara Escarpment. It’s part of a UNESCO World Biosphere,Reserve. Intrepid hikers can go all the way to Niagara Falls along the Bruce Trail, Canada’s oldest footpath! The less adventurous can take a spirited walk around the conservation area and enjoy magnificent vistas.
Join us for a day out enjoying a natural wonder.
