Beaver Pond in Leslie Spit

Come enjoy the “accidental wilderness” in the city. Originally Leslie Spit was supposed to be a space to dump our demolished buildings and debris dredged from the harbour. But, nature had other ideas. Now we can stroll through 400 species of plants, watch for 300 types of birds, capture breathtaking views of the city or collect shells and beach glass. Let’s do it all!

Cycling

If you want to get there by bike, you can meet up with Andrew at 360 Sackville St at 9:30 and cycle to the park via the Don Valley trail and past Cherry St beach.

Driving

There is free parking at the entrance at the bottom of Leslie St. But note that the lower end of Leslie Street is sometimes closed due to construction on the streetcar lines. If you’re driving to the park, you can avoid this by going down Cherry Street and then east on Unwin.
