Philippians 2:6–11 CSB

  1. Adopt the same attitude as that of Christ Jesus
  2. who, existing in the form of God,
did not consider equality with God
    as something to be exploited.
  3. Instead he emptied himself
by assuming the form of a servant,
taking on the likeness of humanity.
And when he had come as a man,
  4. he humbled himself by becoming obedient
    to the point of death—
even to death on a cross.

1 John 4 —Taking on the cost of our bad behavior

  1. God’s love was revealed among us in this way: God sent his one and only Son into the world so that we might live through him.
  2. In this is love, not that we loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins.
  3. Dear friends, if God loved us in this way, we also must love one another.
