Jesus is Lord

Romans 1:1-5, 16-17

  1. Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God,
  2. which he promised beforehand through his prophets in the holy Scriptures,
  3. concerning his Son, who was descended from David according to the flesh
  4. and was declared to be the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord,
  5. through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith for the sake of his name among all the nations

Romans 1:16-17

  1. For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
  2. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”

Psalm 2:7-8

  1. I will tell of the decree:The Lord said to me,
    “You are my Son; today I have begotten you.
  2. Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage,
    and the ends of the earth your possession.

Philippians 2:5-11

  1. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus,
  2. who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped,
  3. but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.
  4. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

Philippians 2:5-11

  1. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name,
  2. so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
  3. and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Romans 3:10-13

  1. as it is written:
    “None is righteous, no, not one;
  2. no one understands;
    no one seeks for God.
  3. All have turned aside; together they have become worthless;
    no one does good, not even one.”
  4. “Their throat is an open grave;
    they use their tongues to deceive.
    The venom of asps is under their lips.”

Hebrews 9:27

  1. And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment,

1 Peter 3:18

  1. For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit
