Philippians 2:
- who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.
- And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
- Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name,
- so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
- and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Christmas According to Paul - Philippians 2:6–11
- Jesus came into this world as God
- He came into this world to give, not to receive
- He came for the cross
- He came to be exalted
- He came to be followed
The Challenge of Christmas
- Are we prepared to take the message of Christmas seriously?
- Be ready to follow Jesus in radical discipleship, to rise above the selfishness of our own interests, to carry his cross wherever it leads.
- No matter what we suffer here, and share in his humiliation, we will be raised with Christ to the highest heights, and find our destiny at the foot of his throne.
