Psalm 20

To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David.

  1. May Yahweh answer you in the day of trouble!
    May the name of the God of Jacob protect you!
    1. May he send you help from the sanctuary
      and give you support from Zion!
      1. May he remember all your offerings
        and regard with favour your burnt sacrifices! Selah
        1. May he grant you your heart’s desire
          and fulfil all your plans!
          1. We’ll shout loudly for joy over your salvation,
            and in the name of our God set up our banners!
        2. Yahweh will fulfil all your petitions!
      2. Now I know that Yahweh saves his anointed [Messiah];
    2. he will answer him from his holy heaven
      with the saving might of his right hand.
  2. Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
    but we trust in the name of Yahweh our God.
  3. They collapse and fall,
    but we rise and stand upright.
  4. O Yahweh, save the king!
    he will answer us when we call.
